Italian (Minor)

The full minor in Italian requires 15 credits or five courses at the 20215 level or above including:

  • (2) 20000-level or above
  • (3) 30000/40000-level

Three of the five courses must be ROIT courses in Italian language, literature, and culture, and taught in Italian; two courses (at the 30000/40000- level) may be taught in English (for example texts in translation, or from other disciplines such as art history, architecture, or history) with pre-approval from the DUS. Courses from foreign study programs or other universities may be substituted by permission, but at least two courses for the Italian minor must be taken in residence at Notre Dame. AP credit may not be applied toward the major.
