The Science, Technology, and Society minor offers students the opportunity to acquire an interdisciplinary understanding of science and technology in modern societies, providing them with analytical and conceptual tools they need to confront the complex questions that arise where science and society intersect.

STS prepares students to pursue a variety of academic and career goals. Students focused on the natural sciences and engineering disciplines are trained to analyze the ethical, social, and political dimensions of science-intensive issues. Students majoring in business, the social sciences and humanities will emerge with a greater scientific and technical literacy.
