European Studies (Minor)

The Institute’s Minor in European Studies (MES) invites students from all disciplines to explore the ways in which Europe has and continues to shape the world. Whether studying mechanical engineering or business marketing, students are encouraged to enrich their academic experience by adding a European dimension to their primary field of study. Rooted in the humanities, students in the MES will graduate with proficiency in a European language, a nuanced historical understanding of European society and culture, and the practical research, writing, and diplomatic skills needed to apply this knowledge to the most pressing issues facing Europe and the world today. Graduates of the Minor in European Studies have gone on to work in a variety of fields from law to non-governmental organizations to finance and politics.
